Ever feel like the only way you can be happy something major has to happen like you winning the lottery? or that you have to have a perfect day where nothing goes wrong? As it goes you can be as happy as you want to be because your happiness does not depend on something outside yourself. Lets take a look at how to be happy in 10 actionable step and no you do not have to do all the steps just what feels right for you right now!

 

1. SMILE

Smiling does many things but one thing it will most certainly do is make you feel good. You don’t even need ‘something’ to make you smile just smile anyway and you will feel happier!

 

2. SPIRITUALITY

Many studies have revealed that people are happier when they are involved in spiritual or religious activities are significantly happier people. The feeling of acceptance and a community may be the secret to a happier filled life who knows… the proof is in the results.

3. PURPOSE

Waking up each day with a purpose, knowing why you are alive in the world is a great way to start your day. Here is a quick guide to do just that.

4. LIVING IN THE MOMENT

Choose to live right now in this moment without projecting you thoughts to past failures or future moments that you are worried about. Be aware of all that is going on around you right now and you will find there are no worries, you are at peace.

5. FORGIVENESS

Studies have shown forgiveness can lead to better health, less stress and leaving you well… happier! Everyday visualize yourself forgiving at least 2 people.

6. PEOPLE

Family and friends can provide much support when you need, or you can socialize, make contact or chill out with those who are close to you. Supportive people around you can make you happier. Why not make a call on someone you haven’t seen or spoken to for a while?

7. START YOUR DAY RIGHT

Start your day with optimism and positivity. Tell yourself its going to be a good day and instead of thinking about what could go wrong, think about what could go right.

8. GIVE TO OTHERS

Giving to others is as good as giving to yourself. They’re happy, you’re happy. It’s a win-win. By following the Law of Reciprocity by giving Kindness, love and happiness these things will return back to you!

9. QUIT WORRYING

Worrying can cause illness physically, emotionally & spiritually. There’s no point in worrying about future affairs because they are not happening now. Follow step 4, live in the moment and be happy. Here are 7 fears that are most likely sabotaging your success right now.

10. GRATITUDE

This is something I talk about a lot when it comes to being happy or making a significant change because it works. By being grateful means you are satisfied with the way things are NOW, this satisfaction means you can be happy. What are you grateful for right now?

Now I’m not saying before you can be happy you need to complete ALL 10 steps, that is not true. Choose one thing today that will contribute to your future happiness because the truth is you can be happy right now, you just need to ‘choose’ to be happy. Let the steps be an addition to your happier self starting today.
