We usually follow the standard way of living. Get an education so you can get a good job, excel in your career to make more money , to save, create a family, retire and die. But what happens when you begin to dislike that job or have the urge to start on a new path, a new career? Suppose you didn’t want to follow that path and you had a calling to do something great?
Maybe you’re in a job, but you want to start a business or you work for money but you hate your job? Maybe you’ve found your purpose and calling but that requires you to step into the unknown? Or maybe you have a dream to change the world and do the unthinkable.
You would probably tell yourself, it’s not impossible.
What if there’s a glimmer of hope?…On my seven year journey here’s what I’ve learnt and where you can start creating a life you want.

1. Make a decision
It goes without saying if you want to reach a certain level in life or do something achievable, you first have to decide exactly what that is going to be. You need to be clear and define what you want out of life. Take the 7 areas of your life and decide what you want in each over the next 3 years. Write it down. Create a script in the present tense of how your life looks.

2. Create a plan
OK so you’ve decided what you want. Great!
You now have a script for each area, it’s time to break those specific goals down. Take one goal now break down the steps for the next 12 months. To do this start with quarterly, then monthly, then weekly. Eventually you can break this down into daily steps to keep you on track.

|Fun (a lot of fun!)|
3. Change your mindset
Changing your mindset means changing your beliefs. If you have previously thought you cannot create a life you want because of previous ideas you hold in your mind or because of certain beliefs, a change in mindset is required in order to believe you can make things possible.
Whatever you believe in your mind you will attract those circumstances. So if you believe you have difficult relationships you will attract to yourself individuals that cause difficult relationships. Whether or not you believe this, it’s true.
As you begin to accomplish small goals your confidence will grow and your mindset will begin to change.
4. Take the right action
Success is a lifestyle, a grind, action based, keeping the vision, having bad days, having good days, days you want to quit, loneliness, failure. Taking continued action will get you to where you want to be.
Here’s an action plan:
- Set SMART goals – (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timely) This will help
- Time management – simply dividing your time between tasks that need to be done and controlling that time effectively so you get more done.
- Set priorities – do what is important first
- Use routines to keep you on track
5. Break through barriers by:
- Getting started
- If you fail – keep going
- Find out what’s holding you back
- Identify obstacles
- Write down what may be stopping you manifesting your desired outcome
- Figure out a way forward
- Look ‘within’ to figure out what may be holding you back
- Get out of your comfort zone
- Set bigger goals (taking action)
- Gain courage by learning knowledge and skills
Successful people fail more than unsuccessful people. The people that are successful try more things, fail, pick themselves up and try again.
6. Never give up
Be persistent – push through until you see a result even if it’s small, it can give you hope and the confidence to create a bigger result, so don’t stop there. Try a different approach, continue with what works – quit what doesn’t. The more you persist, the more you are making progress.
Having faith – means taking an action even when you don’t see a result. Faith is knowing you will achieve what you set out to do, through a force bigger than you!

Patience – This sucks. Waiting and wondering.
But as long as you are taking action toward creating a life you want patience is required for its fruition.
7. Have a Purpose
This is everything and can be the difference between giving up or passing the finish line.
When you put a purpose to something you create a why. Why do you want to achieve the life you want? Why do you do what you do? Purpose gives you a reason. Purpose also involves doing what you love to do, something you are passionate about and something you believe in.
When you discover your life purpose and begin living it: you will realise that your greatest joy and satisfaction comes from serving others. You will begin to turn your focus away from what you might receive and look toward what you can share.
When you start seeing your life purpose as a GIFT you can give to others, you’ll find that much of your fear, doubt and hesitation will fade away. You’ll stop worrying whether you have what it takes to live your purpose and focus more on doing the best job you can do, simply because it’s important to the people you’re serving.
8. Personal growth
Personal growth moves your life forward. You need to grow, learn, and use your experiences to make important changes. One of the ways I started my personal growth journey was to read positive thinking books and put into practice what I learned. Books as well as other materials such as Youtube videos, courses + blog posts, were a huge part of my personal growth journey and still is.
A mentor or coach is a valuable way to push you to your limits and out of your comfort zone holding you accountable for your actions.
9. Believe in yourself
Everyone struggles with this at some point or another in their lives, we all have fears, doubts and especially when it come to taking on something worthwhile like creating a life you want instead of settling for less. Without believing in yourself you become comfortable with the way things are in your life, but that doesn’t always mean you’re happy.

Manifesting = make real.
Not by magic or anything like that but by you following action steps that make what you want to manifest a reality. Manifesting is a process that follows action steps that lead to a result or object you want. Manifesting uses techniques of intention and a process to give you the life you want and things you desire along the way. However action is still required.
